Here it is, the first TBR of the year, the plans for the first month of which I hope will be my best reading year so far. If you don’t know, I’ve been in a reading slump for over a year, but this year it’s going to be different, so here’s my TBR for January.

  • ‘The Kaiju Preservation Society’ by John Scalzi, I honestly don’t know what this book is about, but it’s the book of the Emily Fox Bookclub this month and she said it’s supposed to be a funny and light read so I think it will be a good way to start the new year and hopefully it can help me get out of my reading slump.
  • ‘Come comida real’ by Carlos Rios, nutrition is a topic that I’m interested in, and Carlos Rios is a Spanish nutritionist, and, funny thing, he was one of my teachers in a nutrition course I did years ago, since then he has started different businesses involving healthy foods and he has also written a couple of book so I think it’s time to read one of his books.
  • ‘Percy Jackson and the battle of the Laberynth’ by Rick Riordan, as you may know I’m rereading all the Percy Jackson’s books, and this month is the turn of this one.
  • ‘Shadows of Self’ by Brandon Sanderson, I’m also rereading this series because Sanderson released the last book of the series at the end of last year and I didn’t remember much about the story, also, a good friend of mine gifted me the last book the other day, so I can read it straight away when I finish rereading the others.
  • ‘Emergency Skin’ by N. K. Jemisin, this is a story that I know nothing about, but I heard is quite good and since is a short story I’ll be able to finish it by the end of the month.
  • ‘The Thursday Murder Club’ by Richard Osman, I started this book a couple of months ago but I only read like 20 pages, so I want to finish it this month too.
  • ‘North and South’ by Elzabeth Gaskell, this is a classic, I want to read more classics this year, this is going to be my first of the year.
