Well, the title is self explanatory, but let me tell you my story with this, let’s star from the beginning, I got my driver’s license when I was 19 years old, and right now I’m almost 30, and I haven’t driven a car virtuall since then, why? That’s a good question!

When I got my driver’s license, my father wanted me to drive at all times so I could get confident with driving, but he pressured me to drive almost everyday and I had other things to do, so it started to be a bit annoying, I got angry and I refused to keep driving, so what happened? Years passed, and I forgot how to drive, I had to rely on other people every time I wanted to go somewhere, and at the end of last year, I was getting tired of that, I wanted to be more independent.

So, at the end of last year I booked some classes in a driving school, because at that point I didn’t know how to drive and, to be honest, I was terrified to drive a car, so I thought it was a good idea to get some driving lessons before getting my own car, and so I did.

As I got a bit of confidence with driving, I decided to buy a car, so my father accompanied me to see some cars and help me choose one (basically because I don’t know absolutely anything about cars), and after seeing a few cars I decided on the new Kia Ceed, I wanted a discreet colour, like gray or black, but those colours weren’t available at that moment, and I didn’t want to wait a month more to get my car, so I chose electric blue (I’m a Ravenclaw, so blue is not bad).

The first day I got it, my sister went in the car with me because I was terrified of driving alone (she was terrified the whole of the short trip), luckily we both survived. Since then I’ve been using it to go to work, it’s a very short trip but it’s helping me getting used to the car and feeling more confident with driving, I also did a longer trip and I felt so proud of myself for doing it.

So, I regret stop driving back then, but I’m happy I finally got the courage to relearn again ang take the big step of getting a car, it’s never too late!
